VMI Just Dropped The Trifecta For American Style Creatine
Every supplement company releases creatine.
Most of them throw 5 grams into a tub, slap "Build Muscle" on the label, and call it innovation.
VMI decided to give you options:
At first glance they all look similar because (surprise) they all contain creatine, BUT they're built for three completely different people.
Let's break down every ingredient, explain what it actually does, and separate the science from the marketing. As always, NO bullshit. Just facts.
Let's Talk About Creatine
If there was one supplement I'd recommend to almost everyone, It's creatine monohydrate.
And no...It isn't a steroid. It isn't dangerous.It doesn't destroy your kidneys if you're healthy.
In fact, creatine is one of the most studied sports nutrition ingredients in existence with decades of research behind it.
Here's what it actually does.
More ATP = More Performance
Think of ATP as your body's rechargeable battery.
Every heavy squat. Every sprint. Every explosive jump.Every rep you grind through...
Runs on ATP.
The problem? Your ATP stores disappear in just a few seconds during maximal effort.
Creatine helps recharge that battery faster.
That means you may squeeze out:
another rep
another sprint
slightly more weight
better power output
Those tiny improvements add up over months of training. That's where the muscle growth comes from. Not because creatine magically builds muscle, but because it helps you train harder.
Recovery Benefits
Creatine isn't only about strength.
Research has also shown it may help:
improve recovery
reduce muscle damage
support glycogen replenishment
improve training volume
Better recovery. Better training sessions. Better results.
The Brain Benefits
Here's something most people don't know. Your brain also uses creatine.
Emerging research suggests creatine may help support:
mental fatigue
cognition
memory
sleep deprivation
stressful conditions
The evidence is strongest for muscle performance, but the cognitive research continues to grow AND THIS is why I believe creatine that every single person should take creatine consistently.
Product #1: VMI Creatine Gummies
Let's get one thing out of the way...
These are still creatine. They're not better creatine or worse creatine. They're simply a different delivery method.
Formula
5g Creatine Monohydrate
30 Calories, 7 Carbs
0g Added Sugar
Gelatin Free, thus…Vegan
That's it.
Why Gummies?
Because convenience wins.
How many people own creatine, but never actually take it? I have a few clients who HATE the idea of taking another powder and will only take their creatine if it’s in gummy form.
Consistency beats perfection.
If gummies make you actually remember your creatine every day or make it easier to be compliant, they're doing their job.
Any Downsides?
A couple, but nothing deal breaking.
You have to eat five gummies to get the full dose. Some people won't care. Others would rather drink one scoop.
They also do come with calories (only 30 calories), but just keep that in mind if you are tracking your nutrition. Those 7 grams of carbs count.
Now if 7 grams of carbs and 30 calories is impacting your goals significantly, that’s a problem all in itself. Don’t overthink this one too much.
The biggest downside of gummies is that creatine is extremely stable as a powder, but gummies contain moisture, heat, and acids that can cause some creatine to break down into creatinine over time.
Without third-party stability testing, a gummy labeled as 5g of creatine today may not still contain 5g months later.
The question isn't what was in the gummy when it was made. The question is what's left when you actually eat it. These are third-party tested to give you confidence that you are getting that full 5g per serving.
Product #2: Creatine + Hydration
Now things get a little more interesting.
This isn't just creatine. It's essentially a daily recovery and hydration formula.
NNB Purest Creatine Monohydrate (5g)
Purest Creatine® from NNB Nutrition isn't trying to reinvent creatine, because it doesn't need to. Creatine monohydrate is already one of the most effective, most studied ingredients in sports nutrition.
What sets Purest Creatine® apart is the obsession with quality, purity, and testing. They focus on making sure you're actually getting the full dose you're paying for with the lowest amount of impurities possible. It’s not going to add 50#s to your squat BUT, if I’m taking something every single day I want it to be as “clean” as possible.
This is a newer ingredient that I haven’t seen in a formula until now AND I’m personally a fan.
Taurine (1g)
Taurine gets misunderstood all the time. It isn't a stimulant.
It actually may help the exact opposite.
Taurine plays important roles in:
muscle function
hydration
electrolyte balance
endurance
cellular health
One gram is a solid everyday dose.
Coconut Water Powder (100mg)
Let's be honest. This isn't here to flood your body with electrolytes. It's more of a complementary hydration ingredient. Think of it as supporting the overall hydration profile rather than carrying the formula.
Electrolyte Complex
This is actually where things get interesting. Instead of throwing in cheap minerals. VMI uses several premium forms.
Potassium Glycinate TRAACS®
Potassium is essential for:
muscle contractions
hydration
nerve signaling
Many athletes don't consume enough.
Pink Himalayan Salt
Sodium isn't the enemy; especially if you're training hard, sweating heavily, or living somewhere that feels like the surface of the sun.
Without enough sodium...Hydration suffers. Performance suffers. YOU suffer.
Magnesium Bisglycinate + Lysinate Glycinate TRAACS®
These are premium, highly bioavailable forms.
Magnesium supports:
muscle contraction
relaxation
recovery
nervous system function
And unlike cheaper magnesium forms; they're generally much easier on the stomach.
Aquamin®
Aquamin is a marine mineral complex naturally rich in calcium and dozens of trace minerals. It's a nice quality upgrade you don't see in many hydration products.
This makes the most sense if you:
train in the heat
sweat a lot
play sports
do CrossFit
perform endurance training
simply struggle drinking enough water
Product #3: Creatine Pre-Workout
This one is the most complex. Instead of creating another 400 mg caffeine stim bomb, VMI built something much more balanced.
The full serving is 2 scoops, so that's what we'll evaluate.
Creatine Monohydrate (5g)
Clinical dose. No complaints. I think I’ve spoken enough about creatine monohydrate at this point for you to get it. IT’S AMAZING.
Beta-Alanine (3.2g)
If you've ever taken a pre-workout and felt like ants were crawling across your face…This is why.
Beta-alanine helps increase muscle carnosine. More carnosine helps buffer acidity during high-intensity exercise.
Meaning you may be able to sustain hard efforts a little longer before fatigue sets in. The tingles are just a harmless side effect.
HydroNOx™ Citrulline Hydrochloride (2g)
This deserves some explanation.
HydroNOx isn't the plain L-citrulline that you’re used to seeing in most pre-workouts.
It's a patented citrulline hydrochloride ingredient designed to improve solubility and potentially absorption.
The idea is to deliver nitric oxide support with a smaller serving size than traditional L-citrulline.
That said, most of the clinical performance data in the literature is still built around 6-8 grams of standard L-citrulline malate or pure L-citrulline, so while HydroNOx is an interesting innovation, it isn't directly interchangeable with those studies. We'll need more independent research to know exactly how they compare head-to-head.
That's not a knock; it's simply where the science currently stands.
Betaine Anhydrous (2g)
One of the more underrated performance ingredients.
Research suggests betaine may help:
power output
muscular endurance
work capacity
Two grams is a respectable dose.
Tyrosine (1.5g)
Tyrosine helps support neurotransmitter production during stressful situations.
Many people report:
better focus
improved concentration
mental resilience
Especially during long workouts. Excellent dose.
Taurine (1.5g)
Again...Supports hydration. Cellular function. Muscle performance.
A great complement to the stimulant profile.
Agmass® Agmatine Sulfate (1g)
Agmatine is commonly included for pump support.
It may help regulate nitric oxide pathways and improve blood flow, though the human performance data is much smaller than what we have for citrulline.
This and the HydroNOX work together to give you a sick pump.
VitaCholine® (500mg)
This provides choline, a nutrient used to produce acetylcholine, one of the primary neurotransmitters involved in muscle contractions, memory, and focus.
Think of it as helping support the mind-muscle connection so each set feels dialed.
Theobromine (200mg)
Often called caffeine's smoother cousin.
It tends to provide:
longer-lasting energy
improved mood
less abrupt stimulation
A nice pairing with caffeine.
Infinergy® + Caffeine Citrate + Caffeine Anhydrous
Total caffeine: 400 mg
Instead of dumping all 400 mg in as caffeine anhydrous...
VMI uses three different caffeine sources.
Caffeine Anhydrous: Fast.Immediate energy.
Caffeine Citrate: Very rapidly absorbed. Helps kick in quickly.
Infinergy® (Di-Caffeine Malate): Slower release. Helps extend the energy curve.
Instead of one giant spike followed by a crash. You get a smoother ride.
MAX Catalyst®
Black pepper extract. Mainly included to potentially enhance absorption of certain compounds.
Creatine Gummies
Best for: Anyone who struggles remembering creatine.
Powerhouse Score: ★★★★☆ (Convenience Champion)
Creatine + Hydration
Best for: Athletes, heavy sweaters, CrossFitters, field sports, outdoor training, or anyone wanting an easy way to drink more water.
Powerhouse Score: ★★★★★ (My favorite of the three.)
Creatine Pre-Workout
Best for: Anyone who wants one product to cover creatine, performance, pumps, focus, and energy.
The formula is thoughtfully built, with clinical doses of several key ingredients and a well-designed multi-source caffeine system. My one caveat is HydroNOx: it's an intriguing patented ingredient, but I'd like to see more independent research before saying it fully replaces the larger citrulline doses supported in the current literature HOWEVER, coupled with Agmass I think it’s a solid addition.
Powerhouse Score: ★★★★½☆
The Bottom Line
Too many companies think "innovation" means inventing a flashy new ingredient with no evidence behind it.
VMI took a different approach. They built three products around one of the most researched ingredients in sports nutrition and tailored each one for a different athlete.
No BULLSHIT. Just quality formulas with a clear purpose. And that's the kind of supplement design that's easy to respect.
As far as flavor goes - not a lot of companies NAIL the bomb pop profile, VMI is the exception. You get the cherry, blue raspberry and lime - watch the full video breakdown for the flavor review!
PS - If none of these tickle your fancy, you can just go with their standard Creatine Monohydrate!
